GOAL: The # 1 Goal is to HAVE FUN while providing instruction to the rules and fundamentals of the game. The concepts of teamwork and sportsmanship are stressed throughout the season as it is an important part of sports as well as growing up and everyday life.

SEASON: Tentatively scheduled to start October 20th and will run to about the second week in March.

PRACTICES: Tentatively scheduled for Tuesday or Thursday nights (anywhere from 5:00 - 8:00)

GAMES: Will be scheduled for Saturdays (Anywhere from 8:00 Am to 6:00 PM)

EARLY REGISTRATION: Those registered in this past year's (2009) Summer Hoops or Winter Hoops season may begin registration as of Monday August 10th.

OPEN REGISTRATION: As of Monday September 7th, we will open registration and begin advertising to everyone. Space is limited and a waiting list will be started once we have reached our maximum number of registrants. Unfortunately we have had to turn players away in the past so please register early.

Age appropriate divisions will be determined based on registration numbers.

FEE: $85 per player. Includes 10 games, 10-15 practices, team shirt, and trophy

The Town of Fishkill will be hosting a Winter Hoops program for boys and girls, 1st through 12th (based on September 2009) grade. The program will take place at our brand nw Recreation Center that includes a full size basketball court. The goal is always to have fun, however, instruction from experienced coaches and contacts with local high school coaches provide our players with optimum potential to develop their skills as well.

Space will be limited for these programs and a waiting list will be started once we have reached our maximum number of registrants. Unfortunately we have turned players away in the past so please register early.

High School Divsion

FOR 9TH THROUGH 12 GRADE

DESCRIPTION: This division offers high school boys and girls a chance to meet up each week and play. Depending on registration numbers, players will be split into teams and play each other on a rotating schedule. Games are tentatively scheduled for Saturday afternoons/evenings. Possibly on Sundays. Exact dates TBA. A minimum of 20 players is needed to run this age group.

FEE: $60 per player. includes 10 sessions and a team shirt.

Intro to Basketball

DESCRIPTION: We will meet on Saturday mornings (time TBA based on registration). Each session will begin with fun activities and instruction that incorporate the fundamental skills and rules of basketball. Each session will end with a game to "show off" their skills!

GOAL: The #1 Goal is to HAVE FUN!!! Players will develop a basic understanding of the rules and fundamental skills of the game. Games will be adapted to promote proper learning and form. The concepts of teamwork and sportsmanship will be stressed.

SCHEDULE: The season will start November 14th. Times TBA. See the schedule below for remaining dates.
